Measurement Strategies Group LLC undertakes research and product development studies for some clients and for its own interests. We have extensive experience over many years (40+) coordinating research spread across corporate, academic, and consultant contributors. Our past research projects have included assembly of information for government response, analysis of research data developed by others, to actually setting up a lab and doing equipment performance testing. Metrology and OIL LOSS TRAINING

Your staff is capable and motivated, but may not have a background in measuring for custody transfer. Even instrumentation engineers may not be familiar with the subtleties of consistently getting 0.2% accuracy instead of 2%. We have 20+ years of participation in the writing of American Petroleum Institute (API) and international (ISO) standards as well as the practical application in a giant multinational oil company. For training experience, we rely on having conducted over 100 training sessions for groups ranging from operators to engineers to auditors, and in sizes from a conference room-full to 70 persons. Spreadsheets are fantastic tools but they sometimes fall short when all the factors are not known precisely or may be subject to change. We have experience in using statistical tools to help factor uncertainty into your forecasts. We also can analyze existing measurement systems, from a metering station up to an entire refinery or company, to help you understand how good your numbers are and where you might make the most cost-effective changes. This approach is especially valuable when implementing new regulatory programs or when re-purposing older facilities.

To help you meet the goals you identify for your organization, we design a program that you can execute on your own or with our help. Past experience has indicated that continuing outside support is helpful to most organizations. Also based on past experience, reductions of up to 25% of unaccounted-for loss is a practical goal.
